Tenor

Twan van der Wolde began singing as a boy soprano at the age of six with the Roden Boys Choir conducted by Rintje te Wies, where he was appointed principal soloist a few years later. As a boy soprano, he has performed solo in Antonio Vivaldi's 'Gloria' with the Rotterdam Boys Choir, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms with the NNO and sang Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Erbarme dich' for the film production 'Matterhorn'.

Currently he is studying Classical Singing at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen with vocal teachers Hanneke de Wit, Paul Triepels, David Visser and David van Laar. He took part in masterclasses from Margreet Honig, Rosemary Joshua, Maarten Koningsberger, Paul McNamara, Marcel Reijans, Nico van der Meel, Marcel Beekman and Emma Kirkby.

He performed the roles of Sklave, Zweiter Priester and Erster Geharnischter in a production of Die Zauberflöte by the National Opera Academy with the Residentie Orkest conducted by Patrick Lange. He has worked with conductors Peter Dijkstra with the Luthers Bach Ensemble, Boudewijn Jansen, Louis Buskens, Nico van der Meel with Collegium Delft, Andreas Küppers with Ribattuta Musica and Geert-Jan van Beijeren Bergen en Henegouwen with Northern Consort. Furthermore, he performed Mozart's Requiem, Masses by Haydn and Mozart, Britten's Saint Nicolas Cantata, oratorios such as The Crucifixion by Stainer, Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël, Handel's Messiah and Saul, the Hohe Messe, St Matthew Passion, St John Passion and many Cantatas by Bach.

As a chorister, he is associated with several professional choirs in the Netherlands including Cappella Amsterdam, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and Consensus Vocalis. He has sung under the direction of Daniel Reuss, Peter Dijkstra, Nils Schweckendiek, Matthew Rowe, Nicolas Altstaedt, Lawrence Renes, Marc Soustrot and Heide Müller.
