Explanation Christmas concert

Led by the Latvian choir conductor Krista Audere, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Cappella Amsterdam will perform an atmospheric Christmas concert. The program includes Griegs Holberg suite and a selection from Handel's oratorio Messiah.

The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Cappella Amsterdam bring a heartwarming Christmas concert with beloved, but also surprising vocal and instrumental Christmas music. In addition to old and new choral music by Praetorius and Pärt, Cappella Amsterdam sings the cheerful Fantasy on Christmas Carols by Vaughan Williams, in which Raoul Steffani appears as baritone soloist. Of unprecedented beauty is the soprano solo in Hillborgs O dessa Ogon, sung by Katharine Dain.
